Position Description
Our client is seeking a Fund Development Coordinator   Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fund Developer is responsible for insuring that the organization and its programs continue to be adequately funded.

Education
  • Relevant post-secondary education (business communication, marketing, publications, business administration) or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising and/or a fund development role
  • CFRE designation an asset
  • Demonstrated history of success in fundraising
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the agency
  • Highly effective presentation and public speaking skills, with the demonstrated ability to articulate vision and strategy to various stakeholders with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong working knowledge of community programs, resources and  social welfare system
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills
  • Effective relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage several competing tasks in a busy and, at times, intense environment
  • Strong computer skills, experience with website interfaces, desktop publishing software and other relevant programs

Requirements
  • Develop and implement a successful fundraising strategy, including an annual giving program, planned giving and legacy gift program
  • Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing donors in order to increase donated revenue
  • Provide oversight of special events and fundraising activities, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies     
  • Provide expertise in brand management
  • Research and develop events and campaigns that will increase awareness and generate revenue
  • Explore additional opportunities for funding
  • Research, prepare  and submit relevant  grant applications
  • Ensure media releases are coordinated as required

Additional Information
Hours of operation are between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, however, evening and weekend hours are occasionally required.   This position requires the candidate to travel daily to different sites, client meetings, and events across the Region, often times transporting materials and event equipment.  A regular and reliable form of transportation to meet this aspect of the job is required.   Application
