Position Description
Our client, a local, multi-faceted, not-for-profit, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to provide accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll submissions and tax remittances.  Office support will be required in regards to maintaining files and records, as well as general office duties. The ideal candidate will have a drive to learn, the ability to manage competing priorities, a personable attitude, and will be self-motivated.

  • 5+ years of experience in Bookkeeping is required
  • Post-Secondary education in Bookkeeping or Business Administration is an asset
  • Preference will be given to those with strong Quick Books skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft office
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with little supervision
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to remain focused on assigned tasks

  • A/R and A/P full cycle management
  • Month-end, Quarter-end, Year-end duties
  • Cash management and depositing at financial institutions
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Expense tracking
  • Payroll preparation and benefits management
  • ROE’s and T-4 preparation
  • Government reporting and tax remittances
  • Managing and processing recurring donations
  • Preparing financial reports, audit preparation
  • WSIB filing and reporting incidents, disability claims reporting
  • Answering phone calls, emails, and looking after office needs
  • Establish standards and office procedures where needed
  • Maintain office records and mailing lists
  • Other duties as required
