Position Description
Our client is looking for an experienced and skilled Plant Manager to run the production and packaging in an efficient and cost effective manner. To provide supervision and training for plant emplyees and work in liason with QA Manager. The person should be hands-on on various tasks.  

  • Manage and supervise staff
  • Atttend to and resolve all government regulatory issues including WSIB, Fire Safety, and Environmental etc.
  • To assist the QA Manager in third party quality audits and also handle the CFIA inspectors or a daily basis

  • Forecast and plan production based on customer orders and sales budgets
  • Supervise production and packaging employees
  • Place orders for raw and packaging materials
  • Update inventory records at month end
  • Ensure plant equipment is ready for production on time every day
  • Ensure that plant equipment is maintained on a regular basis and ensuring minimum breakdowns in liason with the maintenance person
  • Ensure food quality, correct weights and consistency
  • Input data for daily production and packaging reports
  • Check raw materials with agreed specifications
  • Check finished goods with agreed specifications
  • Resolve work related issues
  • Resolve plant employee issues on a daily basis
  • To ensure customers orders are ready for shipping on time
  • To ensure correct product is shipped to customer
  • Control labour and operation costs
  • Ensure proper and accurate information is generated and records are kept
  • Prepare budgets and deadlines and meet them
  • Prepare standard operating procedures
  • Prepare training schedules for new employees
  • Ensure that outside contractors comply with company policy
